We can accept toddlers on the 1st of the month in which they turn 18 months and pre-schoolers until their last day of Kindergarten.
For example, a child born January 20th, 2023 can be enrolled from July 1st, 2024 to June 30th, 2029.
At this time, we can not provide care for infants. However, children can be added to our confidential waitlist at any age or prior to birth.
We hope to expand our services to school-aged children in the summer of 2023 with before-and-after school care options available in the fall.
Hours of Care SCD is staffed weekdays from 5:30am – 6:00pm with care provided from 5:30am – 5:30pm. Upon enrolment, families will indicate their drop-off and pick-up times and are committed to this schedule unless SCD is properly notified in advance. We are closed on all observed and statutory holidays.
Enrolment Options Our aim is to provide reliable, quality care to as many families as possible and to provide our services to as many children as possible. As such, we offer:

Scheduling Full time families are assumed to be present 5 days per week and do not need to submit monthly schedules; however, they must inform SCD when intending to be absent via the Booking Tool.
Part time families may select up to 10 days per month using our online Booking Tool. Parents are encouraged to select their days as soon as possible to ensure availability. Calendars open on the 1st of the month two months prior (e.g., March booking opens Jan. 1st). Scheduling of part-time spots will be done on a first-come, first-served basis; each part-time child is guaranteed 10 days/month, but SCD can not guarantee that available days will match days required by parents.
Casual Daily care is provided to children registered with SCD, including wait-listed children, when regularly scheduled children are not attending for any reason. SCD does not guaranteed any number of available days per month for casual families. Calendars are viewable weekly for casual booking. The daily fee is applied upon booking regardless of time attended.
Registration / Waitlist You are welcome to e-mail kyla@stockholmcommunitydaycare.com to have your child/children registered for casual daily care and/or placed on the waitlist for full or part time care. A one-time administrative fee of $50 secures your waitlist spot and provides access to casual daily care as available (e-transferred to fees@stockholmcommunitydaycare.com preferred). Note that you must send an email, spots will not be held based on word of mouth or social media request.
You will receive an email confirming your place on the wait-list and latest possible day of admission given our current projections. It is always possible that you may be admitted earlier and we encourage families to join our wait list as early as possible. Given our existing waitlist, our next projected vacancy is July, 2024 - however, this may change if currently enrolled families leave for any reason.
Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis based on age and wait-list order. Children may be added to our wait-list at any age; however, children older than 30 months are unlikely to secure full-time space as preference for preschooler spaces is given to enrolled toddlers who age-up. Once admitted, we intend to provide care until the child no longer requires it. However, to respect the waitlist order for children under 18 months, temporary service agreements may be offered in some cases (e.g., to fill a vacancy until an infant earlier in the wait list ages in).
